So, today I went on a trip to the mall, because it is my mom's birthday AND one of the kidlet's (she is like 16, but REMAINS A KIDLET IN MY HEART)birthday. Present time!
I enter the mall through Sears, as always, and the mall decides to RickRoll me. UNDETERRED I play Explore-The-Mall-For-Something-To-Give-Mom. After a while I manage to find something that is not clothing! And the shop even puts it in a nice birthday bag! Hurray! So I head to HMV, because I already knew I'd get the kidlet some anime DVD or whatever. I find a boxset for Gurren Lagann! Well, there we go, present found. But what's this? In the anime section, there, in all its glory: Gotham Knights.
"Holy convenient DVD placement, Batman!"
... After making sure no one heard me, I pick it up. It's only 16.99$ . . . MIGHT AS WELL! O hey what's over there. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time? HRM. ... OH WHY THE HELL NOT! So I move on, and while I am weeping for my budget (luckily I don't buy stuff often u___u) and paying for my movies, the guy next to me looks at the DVDs I am getting.
"Gotham Knight is really good," he tells me with a grin. I am bewildered someone talked to me, but I smile and say, yeah, I heard it was!
Guy: Kevin Conroy voices Batman, if that means anything to you.
Zia: \o/ Yes! [pumps fist in the air like a geek]
Guy: It does? ... Why? [SUSPICIOUS]
Zia: He's the guy who voiced Batman in the animated series, isn't he? :3
Guy: .............. Marry me. I've never met someone as into Batman as I am before.
This guy has obviously never seen the Internet. So anyway, we start to talk about Batman, I find out he goes to U of O (like me) and he has the entire TAS on DVD (sojealous). After a while, he asks me for my phone number, in case I wanna hang out and watch Batman one day. When I admit I usually never give my phone number to people, he says he could give me his instead, it's fine! ... I give him my phone number anyway. HEY HE LIKES BATMAN. ):
We part ways, and I go buy myself a milkshake. When I'm walking home, I come across the guy again. We're both heading home, and he lives in the residences! HE'S A FRESHMAN I thought he was years older than me. lol. Since now we have time, he gives me his phone number and his full name (so now I can google him >3), and we talk some more. Mostly about Batman, but also other movies. He likes Moulin Rouge, guys. Moulin Rouge.
Basically it was pretty grand. He is totally not my type, and I have a girlfriend anyway, but I have someone I can talk Batman with irl ;o;
... Now to go google him to make sure he's not a furry or anything.
